About Wix App Market Revenue Share Changes

From February 1st, 2022, we improved how we pay Wix App Market partners.

Before then, Wix deducted a 6% processing fee from the revenue of every sale, and then split the remaining revenue 70/30 with partners.

We reviewed our fee model and decided to make changes that aim to help all Wix App Market partners increase their chances of success on our platform.

Key changes

  • Partners keep 100% of their revenue in their first 12 months with Wix
  • We completely removed the 6% processing fee for everyone
  • After their first year with Wix, partners enjoy an improved revenue split of 80/20 (developers keep 80% of every sale)
We recommend that you read the updated Partner Agreement.
Important: external billing partners
If you manage payments and billing on your own platform, then you need to adjust your systems to reflect these new rates to avoid overpaying.

What the changes mean for you

You benefit in different ways, depending where you are in your Wix App Market journey. Here's how it looks:

New partners

For the first 12 months of your time on the Wix App Market you keep 100% of every app sale. You revert to the new 80/20 split once the first year is complete.

Partners that joined between February 2021 and February 2022

Apps that launched on the Wix App Market in the last 12 months still benefit by keeping everything for the remainder of their first year.

For example, if you joined in November 2021, you keep 100% of everything you earn for the 9 months remaining up to November 1st, 2022.

Partners that joined before February 2021

Apps that joined more than 12 months ago will switch to our improved revenue share of 80/20 (where developers keep 80% of every sale), plus we no longer deduct a 6% processing fee from the total gross revenue.
