App Removal

Every now and then apps can be removed from the App Market for a number of reasons, either temporarily or permanently.
Temporary removal
An app is usually removed temporarily if there’s a bug, and then it’s republished once the bug is resolved. When an app is removed permanently, it's first removed from the market so that it cannot be installed by new users, but continues to work for existing users.
Permanent removal
Permanent app removal can be initiated either by the developer or by the App Market team.
Developer removals
Contact us if you want us to remove your app from the App Market. As stated in the Partner Agreement, you need to support your app and users for a grace period of 90 days from the moment we acknowledge your request. Here’s what happens next:
- You’ll support the app and answer questions from users for up to 90 days (less if the app is permanently removed before this period is over).
- We’ll remove the app from the App Market so new users can’t add it.
- We’ll let your users know that the app will no longer be available, and give them an alternative solution.
App Market team removals
The App Market team might initiate permanent removal of an app for reasons including, but not limited to; technical issues that do not get resolved in a timely manner, inadequate or untimely support for users, and breaches of the guidelines, or Partner Agreement.
As above, you'll need to support your app for up to 90 days.
